The Role…  Working as part of the fresh and frozen continental team, the Export Clerk plans the transport of fresh and frozen product (salmon and seafood) to mainland Europe. The Export clerk must strive to achieve the highest quality of service to all customers and also ensure that they comply with all aspects of DFDS policies and procedures.

 

Responsibilities will include…

• Plan full loads and groupage loads from Scotland to mainland Europe.
• Ensure timely and accurate completion of all paperwork relevant to the department.
• Order entry and processing.
• Develop and maintain excellent customer relationships.
• Deal with all customers questions and queries effectively.
• Day to day administration related to the Continental Department Communicate effectively with other areas of the operations function.
• Liaise with DFDS Aberdeen to ensure that all customer requirements are met and that all relevant information is made available.

 

Key Skills Required…

• Good team player
• Excellent communication skills and telephone manner
• Customer orientation and commercial awareness
• Computer skills (in particular Microsoft Office)
• Knowledge of transport operations (advantageous but not essential)
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with accuracy
• Due to the nature of the industry and requirements of the department, the individual must be willing and able to work shifts and weekends (both Saturdays and Sundays).
