We are looking for a new leader for our corporate Elkem Business System (EBS) Competence Center for continuous improvement and lean methodology. EBS is an integral part of our culture and the way we work, inspired by the Toyota Production System. EBS drives the behavior in the organization and fosters a culture of operational excellence, continuous improvement and deep learning.

Elkem Business System is Elkem's philosophy and methodology for continuous improvement and a key enabler to reach the company's strategic goals. The corporate EBS function is responsible for setting and developing the standards, conducting audits, and providing coaching and training throughout the organization. As EBS Director, you will work strategically in close cooperation with the business divisions. You and your team will also work closely with our production sites across the world with a "train the trainer" approach to further strengthen their ability to implement improvements and solve problems locally.

 

Most important areas of responsibility:

• Leading, challenging, and supporting the corporate EBS team, with team members located in China, Europe, and Americas
• Ensure continuous development of corporate EBS standards, programs, training material and tools
• Perform EBS assessments and contribute to necessary improvements
• Develop, analyze and communicate EBS KPIs
• Train, coach and develop EBS managers at plant- and division levels

 

Qualifications required for the position:

• Knowledge of Toyota Production System / Lean principles, methodology, and tools
• Minimum Bachelor's degree in Technology, Organizational Development or other relevant field
• Experience from a senior management position in an industrial company
• Experience from management of multidisciplinary, international teams
• Understanding of how digital tools can enable improvement work in industrial environments
• Fluency in English and preferably also other languages

You have a coaching approach to leadership and strong interpersonal skills within a multicultural environment. You have solid analytical and problem-solving skills, experience from digitalization of work processes, and prefer to work in a structured and well organized manner.

The position reports to SVP Technology and could be located in any Elkem location globally. Extensive travelling is required.
