DFDS are looking for someone who has previous experience in the transport industry to join our small but energetic team based at Wisbech as a Despatcher / Transport Clerk.

Working 06:00 – 18:00, on a 4on 4off shift pattern, you will be required to pre-brief & de-brief our fleet of drivers to ensure they understand their requirements for the day and act upon any issues they find whilst on the job. Communicating directly with our customers, listening to their needs, and giving them the great customer service, they expect. Be reactive to the needs of the business, flexing what the priorities are on any given day, whilst supporting in the resourcing of our driver plan to ensure on time deliveries, whilst managing the costs. You will be responsible for updating records so that invoices, reports, and statistical information can be produced. Review and produce KPIs along with other data looking for improvements in service and/or cost reduction opportunities, to support targets that we look to meet. Maintain current records of Audit performance, set against regulatory, legislative, and business requirements.

It is key you possess excellent communication skills to enable you to build strong relationships with driver agencies, ensuring we have a network of drivers that can service our customers’ needs. Alongside outstanding IT skills covering Microsoft packages and the ability to understand external systems such as Tachomaster, as well as being able to develop an understanding of internal DFDS IT systems such as Velocity and Mandata. This combined will enable you to support other team members in problem solving, carrying out root cause analysis for driving improvements within the business.
