As a key member of the Spanish team, the Deputy H&S Manager supports the business by leading the H&S management of Statkraft’s portfolio in Spain. You will have direct responsibility for the compliance in terms of HSE the projects assigned with the support of a dedicated team. This role is based in Cadiz and will be offered on a 12 months fixed term contract basis.

Reporting to the H&S Manager, you will be a good communicator with excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to exercise initiative in a role that requires multi-task. You will be able to work independently whilst being a good team player, solution orientated and proactive with good time management skills.

In this role you will be responsible for:

  • Producing the EPC HSE Management Plan in accordance to Statkraft’s corporate standards and best industry practices.
  • Reviewing and approving the HSE Management Plan proposed by the Contractor(s).
  • Ensuring the implementation of the approved HSE Management Plan by the Contractor(s) and their subcontractors.
  • Leading daily and weekly coordination meetings with the Contractor(s).
  • Overviewing the works on site ensuring they are carried out in a safely manner at any time.
  • Ensuring proper coordination of the HSE team with other PMT functions (Engineering, Construction, Contract Manager, Procurement Manager, Document Controller, etc.).
  • Supporting the Project Management Team in various activities.
  • Coordinate internal and external audits as required.
  • Ensuring the reporting to the team/upper management of any event on site (near misses/accident), as per the established internal reporting procedures.
  • Leading investigations on site in a timely manner and in coordination team/upper management, as per the established internal investigation procedures.

About you:

  • BSc in Electrical/Civil/Mechanical Engineer.
  • At least 7 years of professional experience, out of which at least 5 working in large scale energy projects.
  • Specific HSE qualification in accordance to Spanish Law: Técnico Superior en Prevención de Riesgos Laborales and First Aid/Emergency training.
  • Knowledge and experience with ISO 45001 and ISO 14001.
  • Previous experience in HV projects (i.e. substations and/or transmission lines).
  • Excellent word processing and IT Skills, including knowledge of a range of software packages such as Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook.
  • Fluency in English and Spanish.
