Deputy Chief Flight Instructor (A)

The company is growing due to worldwide demand for pilots, and we are currently looking for a Deputy Chief Flight Instructor (D)CFI candidate.

The ATO providing flight instruction shall nominate a (D)CFI who shall be responsible for the supervision of flight and flight simulation training instructors and for the standardization of all flight instruction and flight simulation instruction. The (D)CFI shall hold the highest professional pilot license and associated ratings related to the flight training courses conducted and hold an instructor certificate with the privilege to instruct for at least one of the training courses provided.

The (D)CFI should, except in the case of ATOs providing flight test training, have completed 1 000 hours of flight time as pilot-in-command (PIC). At least 500 of those hours should be on flying instructional duties related to the flying courses provided, of which 200 hours may be instrument ground time.

Reporting: (D)CFI reports to CFI.

Responsibilities:
• Assist the CFI in his/her responsibilities
• Handling and processing of findings and reports
• Assist the CMM in handling and processing of internal/external audits and inspections
• Responsible for all the daily flight operations and associated decisions
• Keep the oversight of each student’s flight training and proficiency level, and that each student reaches the proficiency level defined for every phase of flight training
• Be the point of contact for flight operational inquiries
• Standardise the satellite base through meetings and (safety) information to ensure the employees are held up to date about the existing and future procedures and regulations

Qualification requirements:
• Solid instructor background and possess high professional competence
• Like the combination of administrative work and flying
• Be a Flight Examiner (FE) or be interested in becoming one
• The ability to work both independently and in teams
• Flexible with regard to high workloads during periods
• Ability to work efficiently and structure
• Good communication skills both oral and written in Norwegian and English
