Our current manager for the Communication, security & safety development department has taken on new challenges in Kongsberg Maritime, and we look for a competent successor, to lead the team of 16 communications, security & safety specialists. In this role, you will be a part of the Technology Platform management team, reporting to VP Technology Platforms. You will lead a team of specialists in industrial protocols, communications system (wired & wireless) as well as professionals in cyber security and product safety.

 

Key accountabilities

• Lead our Communications, security & safety department, with resources on three different locations (Kongsberg, Ålesund & Horten), including resource management, recruitment and keeping department budget
• Develop and maintain core critical competence in the department and to ensure department goals are met
• Set the strategic direction within own area of responsibility, participate in design reviews, and strategy processes
• Contribute to technology projects and studies within own area of technical expertise
• Interact and cooperate with other department managers in Technology business unit, in particular in Technology – Platforms, as well as our product managers

 

Qualifications and experience

• Master of Science (or equivalent) in an Information and communications technology (ICT) related field, or mathematics/physics with relevant experience
• Previous experience with research and/or development within communications technology and/or cyber security
• Understanding of the main building blocks of a modern communications system
• Technical knowledge/experience within one or several of the following; industrial protocols, security, wireless systems, data communications/networks
