The Data and Business Analyst supports the DFDS Direct team in growing a digital business through data-driven insights. The role consists of driving a range of commercial and operational analyses and of presenting findings to DFDS executives.

This job is a unique opportunity to help build a new digital business within Logistics and develop analyst skills as well as relation to DFDS executives. You will also be building top-tier consulting skills.

As Data and Business Analyst you will develop knowledge of digital freight, which is the future of the Transport and Logistics industry. At the same time, you will work alongside ex McKinsey and BCG consultants in an Agile, start-up-like environment. In this process you will develop data analysis, project management and executive communication skills as well as business acumen.

The team is a diverse team from the Logistics division and the Technology & Innovation division that works very closely with the Logistics VP of BU Nordics. It provides updates to the Venture Board every other month, which includes the CEO, EVP of Logistics and CTO. You will be collaborating with your manager and peers in an open communication form and in the acknowledgement that everybody brings their own personality, experience, and skills to the table with a passion for building DFDS Direct.

 

Main responsibilities

The Data and Business Analyst will have the following main responsibilities:

• Develop and maintain KPI reporting for DFDS Direct, e.g. Tableau dashboards
• Support business development through customer and competitor analyses, e.g. leveraging digital marketing data
• Perform and present ad-hoc analyses in various other areas, e.g. pricing, operations and commercial business cases

In addition to this, the Data and Business Analyst will make presentations and present to the Executive Management Team, manage stakeholders e.g. local Logistics offices and group finance, and help boost commercial growth by interacting with customers, e.g. sales calls.

 

Your profile

We imagine you have 0 to 2 years of working experience studying towards or having graduated from a Bachelor’s degree in business, economics or other relevant fields. You have experience in handling large amounts of data and in efficiently running analyses leading to insightful findings. You are pro-active in identifying and understanding data sources and solutions when data quality or quantity is sub-par. You are also willing to take on hands-on tasks, such as calling customers to win new business when necessary, and you have the start-up mindset that you will sometimes need to pick up tasks outside your job role. Proficiency in Excel and Tableau is preferred or the ability to learn fast. Good communication skills are a must.

We are looking for an outgoing person with a passion to drive insight from data and an out-of-the box thinker that delivers high quality output on time. Also, you should be willing to learn and develop consulting skills including executive communication.
