In the UK the Company is developing, constructing and operating renewable electricity generation assets.  Statkraft own and operate a 50MW hydro power station, have shares in a 23MW wind farm in Wales. Statkraft own shares in three windfarms in Scotland totalling 155 MWs. Statkraft have a development portfolio of several onshore wind farms.

Statkraft Energy Ltd is the Operations & Maintenance side of Statkraft within the UK, the 24/7 Control Centre team is based at the 50MW Cwm Rheidol Hydro Electric Scheme near Aberystwyth in Wales. It also operates & monitors UK wind farms.

To strengthen our team, we are looking for a:

Control Centre Operator

The role will be based at Rheidol hydro station based near Aberystwyth and report to the Team Leader Control Centre.

Your role:

  • Working a fixed shift cycle on Days, Evenings & Nights including weekend working.
  • Monitoring and controlling the generation of renewable energy from Statkraft UK assets responding to faults and liaising with the site maintenance teams.
  • Carryout roles under the Electrical & Mechanical Safety Rules.
  • Carryout the role of Operational Controller under the Wind Turbine Safety Rules.
  • Ensure clear and concise shift handovers.
  • Carrying out other duties as required.
  • Liaising with other industry bodies i.e. National Grid.

Your profile:

  • Ideally possess an engineering qualification such as Electrical Engineering Level 3 National Vocation Qualification (NVQ) or equivalent industry standard.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Committed to high levels of workplace health and safety, and management of environmental impact.
  • Supportive of renewable energy generation.
  • Self – motivated and able to work without supervision.
  • High level of computer literacy.
  • Ability to build good working relationships with colleagues, customers and stakeholders.
  • Demonstrate proactive, flexible and positive attitude. Share knowledge freely with others to ensure best practices.
  • Previous experience of working in a Control Centre environment will be an advantage.

The position may require some travel within the UK, to Oslo Norway and other locations as the role requires.  This role is offered on local terms and conditions. Applicants will need the right permit to work in the UK.
