Contract Coordinator - Project Purchasing

If you’re a Contract Coordinator (Project Purchasing) with a track record in the delivery of services in line with EPC and O&M contracts in large scale Solar PV projects then we want to hear from you!

As a key member of the Procurement department, the Contract Coordinator will be involved with the procurement of equipment and construction services for PV projects, at every stage in its lifecycle from greenfield development, through construction and into operation. In addition to administrative support for the project procurement activities around the world, you will be responsible for improvement projects new technical and commercial opportunities within the supply chain, which are outside of the immediate project requirements. About you:

  • Efficient contract management and order fulfillment.
  • Support the Contract Managers on projects worldwide with analytical and administrative tasks.
  • Support on all phases of the project from early engagement with engineering and development, contract strategy, supplier market analysis, technology developments, supplier prequalification, the tendering process, contract negotiations and follow up of contracts & projects.
  • Manage improvement projects which investigate new technical and commercial opportunities within the supply chain which are outside of the immediate project requirements.
  • Liaising with suppliers and contractors to assist the business with keeping up to date with market and technology trends. 
  • Support other teams across the company with their interactions with suppliers and contractors.
  • Assist with analysing profitability of proposals whilst ensuring the sustainability aspect of the of the company’s procurements decisions are optimised with respect to the supply chain.
  • Assist with supplier reviews to ensure they are compliant with relevant industry and compliance standards.
  • Monitor that service levels maintained by suppliers and quality of goods in line with relevant industry standards.

What we are looking for:

  • 2 years’ experience in a purchasing/contracting role (preferably within the PV/energy industry).
  • 2 years’ experience of using SAP as an ERP system.
  • A strong understanding of the purchasing process including supplier and tender evaluation.
  • Ideally experience of working with international suppliers and contractors, negotiating and procuring cost reduction.
  • An understanding of manufacturing, transport methods, supply chains, costs and processes.
  • Ideally an understanding of financial modelling and methods to optimise project value.
  • Fluent in English, i.e. to have detailed technical and commercial discussions in English.
  • Spanish is desirable
  • A degree in business and/or technical areas
  • Ideally a knowledge of the PV industry and equipment used.
  • Strong written, oral and listeningcommunication skills.
  • Business orientated and commercial mindset.
