Consultant – Operations (Real Time Market)

As part of the Norwegian state owned Statkraft Group, Statkraft Markets Pvt. Ltd. is responsible for Statkraft’s power activities in India since 2012. . We provide energy management services to Statkraft’s Hydro Power assets, we offer innovative and unique power supply and hedging solutions to industrial companies across India, and we are among the top three suppliers of Forecasting and Scheduling services to Indian wind and solar generators.

The vision of Statkraft Markets is to deliver value to generators and consumers of power based on the Group’s experience of more than 20 years in power markets in Europe and South-America. The company holds a Category-I Inter State Trading Licence.

Your role:

In your role as Consultant Operations (Real Time Market), you will be reporting to Head of  Operations in India. You will be required to work in close coordination with BD & Finance dept. Key accountabilities and expectations of your role include:

• Managing & aligning the RTM related requisition of our various Clients on Power Exchanges (PX) in round the clock environment.
• Understanding the requirement of clients and planning bidding strategy thereof.
• Activities like providing active client support and complete bidding solution for other PX products i,e DAM, TAM, Intraday and REC markets for Statkraft’s own assets and its customers.
• Close Co-ordination & follow up with power exchange/ consumers for operational activities.
• Co-ordination with Discoms, State and Regional dispatch centers for open access approvals and settlement of energy.
• Automations of process and developing in-house IT tools.

Your profile:

• B-Tech or MBA-Power management or both with 3 years prior experience in handling power exchange transaction and Renewables Power Scheduling in RLDC/SLDC.
• Flexible  in 24*7 working (rotational)shift operations as per the business requirement.
• Good understanding of prominent regulations related to short term open access and scheduling of power.
• Power/energy market exposure preferably in a Power Trading company, SLDC or Discom.
• Excellent interpersonal & communication skills.
• Considering our presence in south India, fluency in Tamil or Telugu may be additional advantage. 
• Basic working knowledge of Python and advanced excel.
• Eagerness to learn and develop your own experience of best-practises from the global operations of Statkraft.
