Our Global Customer Support division is responsible for Kongsberg Maritime services, upgrades and support in the aftermarket. Our 2300 employees are present in 35 different countries around the world. During the operational lifetime of more than 30.000 installations, we ensure cost-efficient delivery of services, upgrades and spare parts in order to secure availability and predictability to our customers.

An exciting opportunity has arisen as Commercial Manager, reporting to Vice President Commercial - Global Customer Support. In this role, you will be a part of the wider Commercial Function in Kongsberg Maritime, focusing on the Kongsberg Maritime services business. You will be delivering commercial advice and support to the business, supporting sales in negotiating agreements with customers, advising on key contract issues and identifying and mitigating risks together with your colleagues.

 

Key accountabilities

• Advice, negotiate and draft terms and conditions, using judgement in balancing commercial/legal considerations against the requirements of the business
• Drive the timely resolution of claims, disputes and litigations in cooperation with corporate legal and insurance support
• Assist in supporting aspects of business development opportunities and initiatives, including partnerships, establishment of legal entities, acquisitions etc. and liaise with corporate functions as required
• Drive compliance with company policy on use of advisers, anti-bribery and export control compliance
• Act as a point of contact and liaise with Treasury department for agreement for Bank guarantees, and other payment securities
• Provide commercial awareness and contracts training to sales and project management teams across Europe, Middle East and Africa

 

Qualifications and experience

• Educated to degree level or equivalent in a relevant discipline
• Experience in complex, commercial negotiations within demanding timescales
• Relevant experience in previous commercial or legal roles
• Experience in working a matrix organization, managing stakeholder relationships
• Preferred international experience and/or experience working across geographical and cultural boundaries
• Demonstrated knowledge of contracts law and principles
