Many of Elkem's projects are small or medium-sized modification projects in our industrial facilities, where in addition to being an administrative project manager, you will often also hold several other roles. We are looking for typical "all-rounders" with longer experience from the project management profession and who thrive in an operative and broad role.

Most of Elkem's industrial projects undergo a phase-wise development with a view to investigating relevant alternatives, costs and implementation uncertainty, before the projects are possibly put forward for a final investment decision. It is critical that we select the right project opportunities and that these projects are carried out in the right way.

Elkem has recently announced projects related to bio-carbon for the smelter industry, as well as materials for the battery industry. Work is also underway on other important climate-related projects. Participation in these are examples of projects that are very relevant for this new position.

A large portion of Elkem’s business and projects are located in China, of this reason we are looking for candidates with full proficiency in Chinese (Mandarin) both orally and written.

The most important tasks will be:

• Resource and support in corporate FEL-reviews and project audits.
• Coach project managers and project owners on compilation of decision basis documentation, project set-up, project controls and project reporting.
• Develop and maintain standards and best practices for key topics such as cost estimating, cost estimating, scheduling, risk management etc.

We want you to have the following qualifications:

• Minimum a Bachelor degree
• Structured and self-driven
• Good communication skills
• Flexible.
• 100% fluent both orally and written in Chinese (Mandarin) and English.

We are looking for a person who have experience with project management and project controls by participation in international industrial projects. You should have good knowledge with the framework, terminology and methodologies for cost estimation, project scheduling and risk management.

The position reports to VP Projects.  The position requires some travel.
