Associate Manager - Process, Powder

Jotun Liger (Malaysia and Singapore) took effect from 01 July 2016. The business administration in these 2 countries has been consolidated as one unit and manages by the same management team. The legal setup is to be maintained as is with 2 separate entities for statutory purposes. Performance of the business will be measured as one unit with the consolidated results.

After the establishment of Jotun Liger, the organization is now expected to deliver strong growth while continuously improve on efficiency and profitability.

Today, Jotun Liger is the largest company and one of the main profit contributors in SEAP with total sales of NOK 1,346 Million and EBITA NOK 209K in 2019.

This position is responsible to develop production best practices to improve the production efficiency and maintain HSEQ requirement, by implementing process working instructions and optimizing production processes facilities to ensure that production stability, product quality is maintained with efficient productivity.

This position will be based in Nilai, Malaysia and report directly to the Factory Manager ,Powder - LIGER.

Duties and responsibilities

 

  • Improve productivity and efficiency by studying, assessing existing processes at site, experiment & propose alternative solutions in order to maximize output. Target for monthly OEE to 45%-50%.
  • Regularly evaluate production process and identify areas for improvement together with the production team by analysing top tier non-RFT products, evaluate together with lab, QC and drive for improvement in this area to achieve target for RFT > 58% at startup and RFT >95% during process.       
  • Apply JOS tools (root cause analysis tools, SMED, Value Stream Mapping etc.) during process improvement initiatives in order to deliver reliable data and result.     
  • Built high level of production team motivation, skill, knowledge, and attitude at work by conducting regular operator training, small group discussion on production process to ensure right tools and knowledge are provided and operators are skillful to run process control.  
  • Handle timely non-conformance cases related to processing matters by investigating, apply root cause analysis, discussion and correcting in order to avoid re-occurrence and loss.  
  • Develop procedures, work instructions, OPL aligned with process improvement by following up with the team for good understanding and adherence to it.  
Qualifications
  • Bachelor Degree in chemical Biomolecular engineering/Biological sciences.
  • Minimum 4 years’ relevant experience in chemical process-related operations or production
  • Able to work independently and as a team in a flexible, dynamic and fast-paced environment.
  • Experience with software applications such as MS Power Point, Excel and Word.
  • Good knowledge of raw materials control, manufacturing processes and laboratory testing.
