The Outreach unit belongs to the Innovation & Outreach Division at Bi Norwegian Business School. Our overall goal is to strengthen, coordinate and professionalize BI's external relations. We foster a mutual beneficial relationship with students, faculty, alumni and the public and private sector by emphasizing BI’s relevance & connectedness in society. External customer relations, partnership agreements and the connection between partners and our alumni are key tasks.

BI's alumni network currently has over 80,000 former students, alumni, in approximately 80 countries. The alumni engage with BI through professional networking activities at both regional and international level. Alumni contribute in various ways back to BI through mentoring, giving lectures, membership of advisory bodies and as well as ambassadors. Outreach is, among other things, responsible for the publication of the magazine Advantage and the Lederens Verktøykasse (Leadership's Toolbox) monthly lecture series.

We have a vacancy for a permanent position as an Advisor in the Outreach unit at BI Norwegian Business School.
We are looking for you who have a good understanding of how BI could further develop our international and national alumni relations and activities in a digital age. You are a person who has solid expertise in digital communication, and who is well-versed with digital customer experiences. You understand the interplay between different market channels, data, analytics and how to build the best possible customer journeys across these. You will work in relevant development projects at BI and carry out project deliveries in the Outreach unit. Furthermore, you will contribute to the development of digital and physical meeting places, and the implementation of activities for various groups that are relevant to BI's relationship building with business, with current and former students.

Tasks:

  • Overall responsibility for the digital dialogue with our alumni (nationally and internationally)
  • Designing the digital alumni experience (customer-centric perspective) in different channels using the Salesforce Customer Experience platform
  • Use and implementation of digital communication tools, data processing and market analysis in Outreach's communication work (email communication, newsletters, and articles)
  • Participate in the department's development projects such as Connectedness and the Alumni Portal, and responsible for partial deliveries to the projects
  • Operationally responsible for Outreach's communication tools
  • Work closely with other departments, units, and campuses across BI to gain a thorough understanding of how BI can best work for to further enhance our alumni and partner relations
  • Responsible for 1 student assistant who primarily works with communication
  • Assist in developing and improving the portfolio of collaborations and projects with business, the public sector, alumni, and voluntary organizations in line with BIs' strategy

Competence requirements/experience:

  • Minimum 3 years of higher education within relevant subject area
  • General good digital and technical understanding, preferably experience with digital tools (preferably incl. CRM / Salesforce), and/or participation in digital development projects
  • Good ability to quickly familiarize yourself with new and unknown issues
  • Experience from working with communication on digital platforms
  • Strong written and oral communication skills in both Norwegian and English

The Advisor reports to the Head of Outreach, Birte M. Horn-Hanssen. The workplace will be at BI Norwegian Business School, campus Oslo (Nydalen).
